BloomWave is an interactive musical vase inspired by Ikebana created for QUT’s Tangible Media unit (DXB212). Developed in a group project, it explores joyful interactions through tangible media, inspired by individual design themes from an earlier Arduino-based assessment. The project involved designing and demonstrating the prototype, delivering a presentation, producing a 2-minute video, and submitting a digital documentation poster.

Hardware Selection
The Arduino Mega was initially chosen for voltage splitting, but a smaller Uno or Nano would have sufficed for the final prototype with only an RFID reader.
Sound Playback Optimisation
Replacing Max MSP with .mp3 file looping simplified playback. Using a micro SD module, Bluetooth, and battery could have made the prototype self-contained, improving its final product feel and eliminating visible wires.
